Nuclear limits on nonminimally coupled gravity

چکیده
We explore alternate theories of gravity where the gravitational term in Lagrangian $\frac{R}{8\pi G}$ is replaced by a function $f_1(R)$ and matter multiplied $f_2(R)$. argue that nuclear physics can provide strong experimental constraints on such theories. In particular using energy conditions pressure $^4$He nucleus, for $f_1(R)=\frac{R}{8\pi $f_2(R)=1+\lambda R$, we find limit $|\lambda| < 5\times 10^{-12}\, \hbox{m}^2$, more than thirty orders magnitude stronger previous limit.

Fresh inflation with nonminimally coupled inflaton field
I study a fresh inflationary model with a scalar field nonminimally coupled to gravity. An example is examined. I find that, as larger is the value of p (a ∼ tp), smaller (but larger in its absolute value) is the necessary value of the coupling ξ to the inflaton field fluctuations can satisfy a scale invariant power spectrum.

Scalar elds coupled to gravity via R 2 in arbitrary Friedmann-RobertsonWalker backgrounds can be represented by an e ective at space eld theory. We derive an expression for the scalar energy density where the e ective scalar mass becomes an explicit function of and the scale factor. The scalar quartic self-coupling gets shifted and can vanish for a particular choice of . Gravitationally induced...
متن کاملTorsion nonminimally coupled to the electromagnetic field and birefringence
In conventional Maxwell–Lorentz electrodynamics, the propagation of light is influenced by the metric, not, however, by the possible presence of a torsion T . Still the light can feel torsion if the latter is coupled nonminimally to the electromagnetic field F by means of a supplementary Lagrangian of the type ∼ l2T 2 F 2 (l = coupling constant). Recently Preuss suggested a specific nonminimal ...

We study dynamics of a dark energy component nonminimally coupled to gravity on a moving domain wall. We use this setup to explain late-time accelerated expansion and crossing of the phantom divide line by the equation of state parameter of this non-minimally coupled dark energy component. By analyzing parameter space of the model, we show that this model accounts for accelerated expansion and ...
